It often feels counterintuitive to couples, but alone time is an important part of any relationship. As a couples therapist in California, one of my goals is helping couples create a healthy balance of togetherness and separateness. Time apart allows for “fresh air” in the relationship and helps avoid getting into a rut or feeling too dependent on each other.
